By using Tuggy, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent bans depending on severity.

Content Guidelines

Encouraged Content

✓ Fun & Engaging Matchups

Create matchups that spark friendly debate and engagement. Examples:

  • • Countries, cities, or regions (USA vs China, New York vs London)
  • • Food and drinks (Pizza vs Burgers, Coffee vs Tea)
  • • Sports teams, athletes, or competitions
  • • Movies, TV shows, books, or games
  • • Animals, nature, and science topics
  • • Technology brands, products, or concepts
  • • Historical figures, cultural icons, or celebrities (when respectful)
  • • Abstract concepts (Summer vs Winter, Day vs Night)

✓ Respectful Debates

Controversial topics are OK if handled respectfully and without hate. Focus on ideas, not attacking people or groups. Keep matchups lighthearted and fun rather than divisive and hostile.

✓ High-Quality Images

Use clear, appropriate images that represent your contestants accurately. Ensure you have the right to use the images or they're freely licensed/public domain.

✓ Original Creativity

We encourage unique, creative matchups that haven't been done before. Put your own spin on popular comparisons to stand out and attract votes.

Prohibited Content

✗ Hateful or Discriminatory Content

Content that promotes hate, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, or other protected characteristics is strictly prohibited.

✗ Explicit Sexual Content

No pornography, explicit nudity, sexual acts, or sexually suggestive content involving minors. Tuggy should be appropriate for general audiences.

✗ Graphic Violence or Gore

No images or content depicting graphic violence, gore, torture, or mutilation. Historical/educational content may be allowed if handled sensitively and appropriately labeled.

✗ Harassment or Bullying

Don't create matchups that target, mock, or harass specific individuals (especially private citizens). Public figures may be included in respectful comparisons but not targeted for abuse.

✗ Illegal Activities

No content promoting illegal activities, drugs, weapons trafficking, fraud, hacking, or other criminal behavior. This includes instructions or encouragement to break laws.

✗ Spam or Scams

No spam matchups created solely for advertising, phishing, malware distribution, or financial scams. Matchups should provide entertainment value, not trick users.

✗ Copyright Infringement

Only use images and content you have rights to use. While discussing copyrighted topics (movies, brands, etc.) is fine, uploading copyrighted images without permission may be removed if reported.

✗ Misleading or False Information

Don't create matchups with deliberately false, misleading, or manipulated content designed to deceive users or spread misinformation.

Fair Play & Voting Rules

Tuggy is designed to be fast-paced and fun, but fair play is essential. Follow these rules to ensure a level playing field:

✓ Allowed

  • Rapid clicking as fast as you can
  • Using multiple fingers or hands
  • Sharing matchups to get more votes
  • Encouraging friends to vote
  • Voting on multiple matchups
  • Creating multiple matchups

✗ Not Allowed

  • Using bots or automated scripts
  • Creating fake accounts to vote multiple times
  • Manipulating vote counts artificially
  • Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities
  • Coordinated vote manipulation
  • Bypassing rate limits or anti-spam measures

Consequences of Cheating

Attempts to cheat or manipulate votes will result in: immediate vote invalidation, matchup removal, temporary or permanent account bans, and IP blocks for severe violations. Our systems detect abnormal patterns - play fair and enjoy the game honestly.

Best Practices for Great Matchups

Want to create matchups that get millions of votes? Follow these best practices:

Choose Universal Topics

Pick contestants that most people will recognize and have opinions about. Global matchups (countries, famous brands, common foods) tend to get more engagement than niche topics.

Create Visual Contrast

Use images with different colors, styles, or compositions. Clear visual distinction makes the matchup more engaging and easier to share on social media.

Spark Friendly Debate

The best matchups divide people into passionate camps with valid arguments on both sides. Avoid one-sided matchups where the winner is obvious.

Write Catchy Titles

Keep titles short, clear, and memorable. The title becomes your URL (tuggy.io/your-title), so make it easy to type, remember, and share.

Ride Trending Topics

Create matchups related to current events, viral trends, or seasonal themes. Timely matchups can explode in popularity overnight.

Share Strategically

Share your matchup in communities where both sides have fans. Engaging both camps creates natural rivalry and sustained voting activity.
